Virgin Islands national park (St. John)

Virgin Islands national park (St. John)

You are probably right on the boundary of Virgin Islands National Park if you are visiting St. John in the Virgin Islands.

The majority of Love City’s finest attractions, including Annaberg Plantation and Trunk Bay Beach, are contained within the island’s two-thirds parkland. This tropical paradise can be enjoyed in a variety of ways. Families and adventurous travelers alike can choose from more than 20 hiking trails.

Following the 2017 hurricanes, some areas of the park, including the well-known Cinnamon Bay Resort and its campers, are still undergoing renovation and rehabilitation. However, visitors concurred that there is still a lot to do at the park, including taking use of the variety of beaches and hiking trails it offers, in addition to the aquatic sports like boating and snorkeling.

Trunk Bay

Trunk Bay

Trunk Bay may be the holy grail of beaches to some. Finding another Caribbean beach with sand quite as white or water quite as blue will be difficult.

Additionally, despite the steady influx of tourists, Trunk Bay nevertheless manages to keep its otherworldly tranquility since it is encircled by the Virgin Islands National Park.

Don’t forget to give the underwater snorkeling trail a try. It is 225 yards long, is covered in coral and fish, and has plaques submerged along the route. Despite being entertaining, several visitors claimed the route itself is unattractive and displays damage from hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. Others advise visiting Trunk Bay’s far end for the greatest snorkelling.

Magens Bay (St. Thomas)

Magens Bay (St. Thomas)

No beach in St. Thomas Virgin Islands, or maybe even the entire archipelago of the Virgin Islands, is as well-known as Magens Bay. Therefore, let us to add our own poetic spiel: The Virgin Islands’ most picturesque and swimmable beach may be found on the north coast.

However, years of encouraging behavior have resulted in a huge amount of popularity with visitors who are only too eager to pay the entrance charge to take advantage of Magens’ charms.

Previous visitors to the beach have only good things to say about it. They could find very little wrong with it, from its fine dunes to its clear waters to its breath-taking views.

Annaberg Plantation (St. John)

Annaberg Plantation (St. John)

Danish colonists built Annaberg Plantation in the late 1700s. 100,000 tons of sugar were produced annually by 1,300 acres of sugar cane that were grown by slave labor.

Rum and molasses were also produced on the site. Visitors may now learn more about the plantation’s part in the transatlantic slave trade as well as how it made its products at Annaberg. The plantation and mill are in a state of partial destruction, but some of the structures have been rebuilt. The living quarters, workplaces, and guardhouse where the slaves were kept from escaping will all be visible.

You could also be able to see a demonstration of bread baking or basket weaving depending on the day. The ruins were well-liked by tourists. Visitors enjoyed the ruins and the breath-taking vistas from the location, but they were especially appreciative of the informed staff. They also cautioned that some of the steps on-site may be difficult for people with mobility impairments to navigate.

Cruzan Rum Distillery (St. Croix)

Cruzan Rum Distillery (St. Croix)

Visitors eagerly take advantage of the opportunity to try Cruzan Rum on its home island; you ought to do the same at its distillery in Frederiksted.

You can learn about the distilling and bottling procedures from tour guides at the rum company’s headquarters. The majority of visitors remarked that while the tour is entertaining and educational, the experience is brief—it lasts only 30 minutes. The guides will prepare two cocktails for you after the trip is finished (which are included in your tour fee).

The Cruzan Rum Distillery is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday through Friday. The distillery only accepts credit or debit cards for payment of the $10 tour fee.

Main street St. Thomas

Main street St. Thomas

St. Thomas boasts the best shopping district in the Caribbean, so if you love to shop, dive right in.

The cobblestones of Charlotte Amalie’s Main Street, also known by its Danish name, Dronningens Gade, are lined with sparkling diamonds, aromatic perfume, luxury clothing, flashy technology, and strong booze. And it’s all duty-free, exactly like you’ve read online and heard from friends.

However, avoid going shopping if you’re not in the mood, especially in the late morning and early afternoon.

With tourists arriving directly from the cruise pier and a plethora of salespeople pleading with you to visit their establishments, Narrow Main Street is an assault on the senses. Tourist taxis are jam-packed in the Charlotte Amalie neighborhood, aiming to drop off visitors as near to the stores as they can.
